VILLAGE TREASURES | |||||||||
A meander through some of the highlights of two towns and seven villages that today form the London Borough of Hounslow; Bedfont, has a picturesque 11th century church, while architect James Wyatt lived in the Royal Manor of Hanworth and later universal provider William Whiteley owned extensive farmland there. By contrast Gunnersbury House, a former home of the Rothschild banking family, now houses Hounslow Borough's museum. | ||||||||||
| GLIMPSES OF BRENTFORD, CHISWICK AND ISLEWORTH | ||||||||||
Encounter an Elizabethan timber framed former public house, homes for the poor built in the reign of Charles II, as well a ghost or two, during this snapshot of highlights from three riverside settlements, where painters Van Gogh, Turner and Hogarth once lived.
